Why does my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 resend old text messages when my phone reboots?

My Samsung Galaxy Note 4 resends old text messages when my phone reboots.

How do you stop this? Very embarrassing since some are to clients. If my phone dies and reboots, about 10 old text messages are sent again or if I just turn the phone off and then when I turn it back on - text messages start going out. Of course, when the phone dies, it is usually after 11pm.
