Android Central Question
Hello all,
My HTC One M8 (running Android 6.0) has started having problems with Google Play, and an SanDisk 64GB Mobile Ultra Micro SD (SDXC) memory card (Class 10, UHS-1). I have been using the same memory card with this phone since 2014 (set up as internal storage since May 2017) without any problems.
Since last Monday, when Google Play updates or installs an app (whether on the phone or on the SD card), the phone loses the card - as though it has been removed. This is usually very brief (a few seconds), and would normally be no real inconvenience. The big problem is that it is often accompanied by a clumsy phone restart - apparently a crash - that tends to disorder the phone's settings at random (e.g. app permissions, quick setting options, account sync settings, etc).
So far, this phantom dismount does not happen in any other situation, and I continue to use apps installed on the SD card without any problems. Like I said: the problem occurs whether or not the app that Google Play is dealing with is installed (or being installed) on the SD card.
Can anyone help me to solve this? Thank you in advance.
