Why does my SII measure weekly data usage versus monthly?

My SII (running ICS FH13) insists on measuring data by the week, rather than the month. On the Data usage screen, I keep setting the sliders to cover the time from the start of my billing period. But every time I return to the screen, it resets to telling me the past seven days usage.

So far as I know, no one gets billed for data by the week. So this seems ridiculous to me. Am I missing something, is there a setting that will make the phone default to measuring the data on a monthly basis, from the start of the billing period?

Not sure mine stayed on measuring by the month when I exited. I hit the back button when backing out. Maybe turn it off then on and try? I'm on a custom ROM though.

Doesn't seem to work for the stock not rooted OS. I've tried it both ways, using the back button and using the Home button. Both results are the same. When I go back to the Data settings screen, it reverts to showing the last seven days.
