Why does snapchat create duplicate images when I save a photo?

After I take a photo/video and press the "save to gallery" button before sending out the post, the app saves a copy of the photo/video in the Internal Storage/Snapchat folder in the format "Snapchat-***.jpg". However, it also creates a copy in DCIM/Camera with the name usually a bunch of numbers.

This creates a duplicate in my album. Is there anyway to prevent the duplicate from being created in the DCIM/Camera folder?

Wish I could reply with the fix for this issue but I'm in the same boat. An option to choose a storage location for saved snaps seems like an appropriate solution.

I have Samsung S5 but I still face this problem. It saves the pics in a Pictures folder and Snapchat folder.
