BoomSound Icon and Sound

The Boomsound icon will periodically pop up in the notification bar along with a sound. Anyone see this? Any clue on why? Did a search but came up with nothing. Last night it was doing it when i was simply surfing the web. "Does anybody know what causes this and how to stop it?" It will do it when I am not even touching it and mostly does it when i pick it up or move it.

i'm sure it's coming on because there's sound on whatever website you're looking at... it's probably just muted from within your settings.

Very annoying

Maybe an app notification? The icon showing up isn't really an indication of anything else than a sound is being played. A recording of the sound would help out a lot if you get one.

Re: BoomSound Icon and Sound

The thing about BoomSound that it is set so that it automatically works whenever any sound is played through the built-in speakers.

It never really bothered me, however, it would've been nice if they made it possible for the user to turn-off BoomSound, this way users can choose to use it or not.

So even receiving a phone call or a notification will trigger the BoomSound to work.

I have noticed the BoomSound Icon pop up when scrolling FaceBook and someone has posted a video. Even though the sound is muted BS is active, and as I scroll past the Icon disappears. I have not had it just pop up for no reason.

You can turn off BoomSound on the M7 but not the M8. Not sure why they did that.

I think you can only disable beats audio on the m7, not BoomSound.

You can turn it off if you plug in earbuds or headphones, using the phone speakers it can't be disabled. On the M8.

Re: BoomSound Icon and Sound

If anyone cares, I figured out what was causing the problem...It was the Sense Flip Clock Widget. Deleted it and no more problems.
Thanks for all the replies.

I seem to get it even when using headphones.

With your headphones plugged in, go into your phone's settings, then scroll to the device section where the Boom Sound option is. You should now be able to turn it off. It's kind of an odd setting because it's only the one toggle but it's dependent on if headphones are plugged in. When they are, the toggle is for headphone output. When you unplug them, it reverts on with the phone speakers. It does remember the headphone settings, though. I personally prefer it off when on headphones.

THANK YOU! I just got a pair of audiophile grade headphones and I've been annoyed at the thought that what I was hearing might be coloured by boomsound. I want it neutral. So thank you very much for that.

Re: BoomSound Icon and Sound

I hate this stupid HTC Boomsound notification, after the last HTC update in August of 2016, the morons at HtC decided to add a new "feature" that plays a very annoying sound whenever the BoomSound notification appears. THERE IS NO WAY TO TURN THIS SOUND OFF!!!!

I have spent endless hours trying to contact HTC to disable this sound, via email, chat and finally a call to HTC support where I was told that this VERY ANNOYING sound is a "feature" not a glitch, and it cannot be disabled.

I am ready to throw this F***ing pone against the wall!! How can those idiots at HTC think that this "feature" is an enhancement? The notification and sound comes on all the time. I CAN NO LONGER CONDUCT BUSINESS ON THIS PHONE!

Whoever at HTC decided to add this "feature" with no way to disable it should be FIRED!!!

You are just pissing people off....
