I can't figure out why the last few weeks a pedometer app keeps counting my steps. it shows on the screen after about a mile of movement. there are no settings in GM for the Pedometer app. I've had this thing a year and this is a new problem. anything I can uninstall or set to prevent this? it will drain the battery and **** me off--that's the extent of it working when I dont want it to. I reboot the watch every day.

There is no option in GM>Settings. None in GM>My apps>Pedometer. None in S Health. None on the watch itself.

How lame that the watch keeps counting steps when it's not a feature I want to be enabled.

Have you tried factory resetting the watch? Or maybe changing to the Gear Live version?

it's been reset 2x. Don't know about the gear live version for this watch. i dont want to make much of a project out of this watch. :)

what? no camera? what about the TV remote function? where do i find what apps it can run? thx...

I've had this same issue, twice. I ended up turning off SHealth on the Gear Manager. I also logged out of S Health on my phone. Then, I went into Titanium Backup and froze all the s health apps (Health Service 2.0.0.x, S Health 3.5.x, & SensorService 2.33). It stopped popping up the steps throughout the day.

thanks. I'll see what I can do without the ability to freeze apps. perhaps I can just disable the thing--I never, ever use s health.

EDIT: I uninstalled S Health. I don't see GM complaining.

did another reset yesterday. went for a walk. damn thing counted steps. i think that S Health got back on my phone from resetting the watch and GM. So I just deleted it from the phone like I did the other day. I hope this is the end of this annoyance.

Could it have something to do with the lollipop update on phones? Did your phone receive the lollipop update? Since my S5 had the update the phone counts my steps automatically. Never had it set up before.

Another thought, mine lets me pause it, then there's no counting.

There is no lollipop update for the Note 2, at this time (if ever).

Oh. Well lollipop isn't all that great.

What about the "pause" feature? I paused mine on Saturday as it was counting my arms moving as I was reorganizing my closet, then forgot until this morning. So I restarted it.

I found a problem with it on your wrist. I was crocheting yesterday and it counted my "steps" as I moved my wrists. I didn't realize that until after my lunch break and had as many steps as I do by the end of the work day. :D Plus larger wrist movements will count a step or two. But I still like to have a general idea.

The only things I've found accurate are: 1) the HR monitor, IF one doesn't move during the counting, and 2) GPS enabled distance measuring. The rest of the "fitness craze" stuff I find utterly useless.
