Why does the S8 have different benchmark scores than other devices with the same SOC?

Can someone tell me why the s8 scores lower than the note 8 and maybe the v30 or in general other phones released street it even tho they have the same chip set (snap 835)...is it because these phones are clocked higher and also have an extra 2 gb ram or is it something else??

Different software, different kernels, different hardware configurations, different displays, etc.
