Why does the screen on my S4 switch to settings while on a call?

my S 4 screen switches over to the date time settings screen while I am on a call

Welcome to Android Central! Is this when you have the phone against your ear? Is the screen turning off when it's against your ear? If not, perhaps your face is inadvertently selecting options that gets you to that menu.
