Voice to text works on Google. For some reason, all of a sudden, it doesn't work in Messages. The microphone icon is replaced by a an audio sign and when I press it, I get the error message "Can't save audio message. Recording time too short".

Welcome to Android Central! Are you using Gboard, Samsung Keyboard, or some other keyboard app?

Does that only happen in the Messages app, or in all other apps as well?

mustang7757, I'm trying to get my microphone back, not use the audio button.
Have you tried in Samsung keyboard ? Tap the gear icon , or can download Google Gboard as I use that also and it's microphone on right side

Are there any options in the Samsung Keyboard settings that might help? Sorry, I don't use it myself, so I'm not familiar with its settings menu.

The one on the right? When I press it, I get the error message "Can't save audio message. Recording time too short".

This isn't the keyboard -- this is the text field where your typed message will appear. The icon on the right is to record an audio message in the messaging app.

If you want to use voice-to-text on your keyboard, you need to tap the microphone icon in the keyboard itself.

Okay, I see what you are saying. But as long as I've had the phone icon on the right was a microphone, not an audio message button. It just changed this week.

Have you cleared the cache partition and rebooted yet? It may be a glitch from an update.
