Why doesn't anybody develop a BerryWeather type app?

I'm new to the Android. Just switched from BlackBerry yesterday, and have been looking for a good replacement for BerryWeather all day. I'm an avid 12 month a year Harley rider, and travel all over the country. Accurate weather info is very important. If I can't find an app similar to BerryWeather, I will be taking my Android device back, and turn the BlackBerry back on.

I notice this was an older post, and wondered if there were any new developments since this thread went dead.

Thanks!!

I keep wondering if Bellshare is going to port over BeWeather as well. I loved it on my Tour, especially being able to change weather stations and add multiple radar and camera sites.

The closest I have come is using Fancy Widgets (or Beautiful Widgets) and have it open Weather Bug. Not exactly the same, but it works for now.

I purchased Palmary, and find it totally inadequate. I guess I'll have to wait for BerryWeather for Andriod, or go back to my BlackBerry.

Palmary is the closest to Berryweather except I wish it used Wunderground. I can't grab my PWS and get my weather from that, and the closest weather station is 20 miles away so it isn't always relevent to me.

Although I loved BerryWeather on my BlackBerry because it was the best available, it had one HUGE flaw. It would give you current conditions and the anticipated high/low, as well as the general conditions for the day, (ie. Cloudy, sunny, rain, etc) it would not give you an actual forecast.

For example, it would not say: Mostly sunny this morning, with a high of 78. Showers will develop early this afternoon , becoming steady by 8 pm.

Obviously a forecast is much more informative than just saying "Rain Showers".

The app did have beautiful icons, graphics and animations though. The interface was also really attractive and easy to use. For now, I use Weatherbug Elite, bit it is about as ugly as they get!

Very good question. Let me ask all the people that did not develop a BerryWeather type app and I will come back to you with the results.

Anybody ever find anything close to Berryweather for Android or talk to the dev about porting it?

The best I have been able to find is Palmary Weather. Unfortunately, it doesn't allow you to select a PWS (I'd like to use my own) but otherwise it's the closest I have found to BerryWeather.

Anyone who is still searching for an Android version of our BlackBerry app BerryWeather, we have just launched the public beta for it :-)

BeWeather was fantastic on my Blackberry. So far it's been giving the same outstanding performance on my Atrix! :)

So glad to have this back on my device - missed it after switching from BB.
