Why doesn't my Bluetooth connect with my Android Note 4?

I have tried reseting the radio and phone but can't get the radio to connect to bluetooth.
I see the symbol for bluetooth on the radio and my phone tells me it's connected (not just paired). My phone calls go through but not the music!? Any suggestions?

Go in to your Bluetooth settings on your Note 4 and then click on the wheel next to the device the Note 4 is connect to. Make user that Media Audio is checked.

Audio and media boxes are checked in the bluetooth settings. None of these things have fixed the connection.

What kind of car is it? In my Honda I have to have my radio switched to AUX in order for my Note 4 to play through my radio via bluetooth.

The other possibility is that the radio's media profile and the phone's media profile may not be similar enough for the radio to accept media audio from the phone. Bluetooth profiles still aren't totally standardized. The car or radio manufacturer may have an update to make it work with a Note 4.
