Android Central Question
I just bought a Galaxy J3 2016 Duos. When I plug it in my computer I get a message on the phone's screen saying the Device is not recognized by the computer and that I should install Smart Switch.
Fast forward a couple hours, I've reinstalled drivers, installed Kies and Smart Switch, turned on USB debugging mode, restarted both devices several times, cleaned my microSD (I don't want to format it), changed the connection mode to Camera only, and back to Media a few times, and nothing seems to work. Obviously, frustration is real.
Now, when I plug the device in, I can see the icon for Safely Eject media, the drivers in the Device Manager are all there, except the one in the Portable Devices tab, which is nowhere to be found.
Kies says the device is incompatible and I should get Smart Switch. Smart switch says the device couldn't connect, my patience is wearing thin. I just want to open a folder in which I can place some files thus copying them to my phone like in the old days.
Does anyone have some insight they'd like to share with me? Thanks.
