Why doesn't my Galaxy S3 boot up?

My galaxy S3 doesn't boot up

Hello guys ! first of all my galaxy S3 asked me to update and i confirmed and while it was updating my son took the battery off and now it doesn't boot , no recovery mode is available . when it turns on it shows this message : "firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again."
I don't really know what to do. I read some stuff and I downloaded Odin and the official rom but it failed.
I'm very disappointed.
please help me .

Welcome to Android Central! Unfortunately, it's never good for the phone to lose power in the middle of an update. The phone is probably bricked. If you can't use Odin to flash the ROM, then you could try bringing it to your local Best Buy's Samsung Store and see if they can salvage it.
