Why don't I get Facebook notifications on my new Samsung S5 phone?

I can't Facebook notifications on my new Samsung S5 phone.

It's a brand new phone and all the settings have been checked, the app has been uninstalled and reinstalled several times. The phone has even been reset to factory settings but I still can't get facebook notifications. I get no sound and no flashing light in the upper corner of the phone. Any suggestions?

I know you said you went in all the settings, does that mean the app settings of the Facebook app as well?

Yes, all phone settings, all app settings on the phone, all settings on my FB account. Everything says notifications on. The phone is supposed to vibrate with notifications as well. The app icon gets the notification number, but that's it. No sound, no light flashing, no vibration.

Have you checked your Facebook settings? I don't mean the app, I mean the notifi cation settings in Facebook!

It's probably obvious and you've probably checked all that, but I thought I might as well post it just in case...

Yeah, thanks, I have checked everything over and over. And I've turned all notifications off then on again. Nothing is working. It's a bloomin' mystery............. I just sent that same picture to Samsung!

I get a sound I chose and in notification bar, no flashing lights. Didn't know the phone was suppose to do that. ☺

I've done both android and iPhone.

The real culprit is the crap Facebook App. It used to be very inconsistent in iOS. but now there's a policy where Facebook updates every 2 weeks on iOS. Now that I'm back on iPhone I can say the Facebook app is 100% better.

I recommend you head on over to your Facebook settings. Click apps and start removing every app that you've allowed to have access to your Facebook. See if that helps.

Basically forget the phone and the app. Log in to Facebook, maybe in your computer, and clean out all that stuff. Close all running apps and restart your phone. Check it then.

I have the same issue.
In addition to checking alll the settings, unchecking and rechecking and rebooting and reinstalling, I've deleted all the apps and turned platform off and the issue persists.
