No sim card message on Galaxy S3

Purchased I9300 in Dubai. Worked fine for 2 years. Phone was asking upgrade software. Did upgrade but got stuck at Samsung logo. Gave to Samsung Service station. They got it out of that but new problem. No Sim card message. Samsung service says mother board now defective. Samsung refuses to help as phone purchased overseas. Not in Canada
Can any one help ? All othe functions such as wifi, blue tooth, email time, alarm apps functioning.
