... make a few standard editions of the Moto X and mass produce it for Europe?

That way Europeans would still not be able to customize their Moto X but would be able to buy it in say black, white, blue and green for instance.

They might have something else in mind for Europe.
 
Any rumors or is just you thinking? I sure hope so, though. (:

On some other threads I read that many people believe that the Moto X will be treated as brand. So the rest of the world might get a different version of the X.

That sounds interesting! If I were Motorola I would aim for as broad as market as possible for sure, though there might be a deeper reasoning behind staying in the USA only. I don't know.

As far as I can see, it is a common trend now to release various versions of the device for various regions.
