The Revolutionary rooting method was very easy to do but I have a question. After installing ROM manager, is it still necessary to install CWM recovery? I thought that was included from doing the Revolutionary procedure. It seems ROM manager wants me to install the recovery again.

no you don't have to, but I believe the CWM that revolutionary installs is an older version (4.something). I flashed the latest CWM from ROM manager anyway.
