Why doors my galaxy s6 keep shutting off sound

Every time my screen locks, which it's set to do after 30 seconds, my galaxy s6 goes into silent mode. Nothing in the settings will stop this from happening, and Verizon store employees had no clue. Please help me figure out how to keep sound on

yes, it does. I took it to Verizon store, and we put it in safe mode but it still happened.

Try a cache partition wipe: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-21095. If that doesn't help, you could try a factory reset, or use Verizon's Software Repair Assistant to reinstall the firmware.

Looks like some kind of rogue app is doing that IMO. Do you have any sound profiles app installed? Also, are you using any battery saving modes or apps?
