Why Galaxy Tab 10.1 thinks that it's connected to USB?

Well, a friend gave me her Galaxy Tab 10.1 to repair, it has the Red Battery X icon when I try to connect it to the PC, when I plug it to charge and then unplug, it still appears as it is charging, when I turn it off the charging battery icon appears but it's not charging, I tried to activate USB Debugging and it says that a USB is connected even if it's not connected. Please help me!!

Welcome to Android Central! Sounds like a problem with the microUSB port. Look carefully with a flashlight--any debris in there? If it looks clean, the port itself might have to be replaced.
