I dont really post in this section, but i keep seeing mentions of the app drawer possibly going away.

I for one like having the app drawer, i put my daily used apps in a folder on my screen but i dont want the app drawer to go away, just doesn't make sense.

Is there a reason to do away w it?

Personally I want the option to have it or not to have it. Something that no launcher I have yet to try has.

I'd be okay with it as an option, but I wouldn't want to see it go away. The first release version of N that I got still had the same vertical-scrolling app drawer as MM. If anyone is looking to change it, they don't seem to be all that eager to do so yet.

I wouldn't mind it being an option either, just don't want to see it go away either, its one of the things i hate about the iphone and love about android.

They aren't going away from the app drawer. The drawer is not in Android... It's a function of the launcher. Those screenshots were put together by a graphic designer, not taken off any phone.

Why did LG take it away? Maybe they were jealous of EMUI or MiUI, dunno. But Google isn't removing it from the Google Launcher, so it's much ado about nothing.

But even if they did remove that button, if guess that they did so because the feature was replicated elsewhere and a dedicated button was redundant. Perhaps an enhancement to Now On Tap.

I would hope they will give people an option. For myself, coming from another operating system, I never use the app drawer mainly because I don't see a need for it, but I can see how if you're used to having one and have used it extensively in the past, you would feel something is missing.
