why has my phone suddenly stopped reading SDCard?

I use Xiaomi's Redmi Note 4G. It has suddenly stopped reading the SDCard that I had been using. How can I solve this problem?

That is odd.
Try a different card and see if that helps.
Can you hook it to a laptop or PC and see the files on the card?

I would try a different SD CARD and if it works, it is not the phone's fault. You might have gotten a defective or counterfeit sd card.
