Why has my Samsung tab 10.1 screens colour gone funky?

My Samsung galaxy note 10.1 is around 6-7 years old and was fine up until an hour ago. The screen has gone a funky colour like it’s tripping out. Parts have gone grey.

It sounds like it might be a hardware failure. Can you take a picture of what the screen looks like and show us?

I’ve tried to add a screenshot but it won’t load onto my comments.
I’ve been advised it’s the LCD flex Cable that needed replacing so I ordered a new one and followed guidelines on how to replace it. Now the device won’t even switch on anymore where before it worked fine just colour issues.

Hi thanks for your help I’ve gone and fixed it myself. The LCD cable wasn’t pressed in hard enough but I taped it into place and with a bit of force the screen is fine now colour fixed but with a tiny shadowy bit in one corner.
