Yesterday, the names disappeared from the list of messages in the Messaging app in my LG V10 running Android 6.0. Now only phone numbers are there. I looked up my wife's # in Contacts and her cell phone number isn't showing up. I use Microsoft Exchange, and all of her contact info is correct when I pull up Outlook on my desktop. I looked at several other contacts, and their phone numbers are no longer there. Some contacts have disappeared altogether. When I open Contacts -> Contact Settings -> Contacts to Display "ALL" is selected. Everything worked fine until yesterday (got the phone in January). I don't recall doing any updates. Please help!

Are they all entered as Google Account numbers (the first line)? If not, they should be.

As far as the numbers showing only, Mine started doing the same thing yesterday.
The only way I can get it to show names is to select a letter from the right side.
