I pre-ordered the One X and received it in on May 4th ahead of schedule.. I loved it.. Loved the screen and was in the honeymoon stage with the phone (so everything is always great).. I was coming from a Galaxy SII Euro-Unlocked..
A couple things I was looking for in my next phone..
1) I had an iphone for so long and I really liked the lock/unlock button on the top so I was looking for that but wasn't a big deal if not
2) Wanted a better camera phone
3) Very much dislike touchwiz and would always put a different launcher on it so I wanted to try out Sense since it looked pleasant without having to put something else overtop of it
I tried out the Galaxy Note and I really liked that as well but just too too too darn big.. I really do love the 4.3-4.5 inch range.. Just fits so nicely in my hand.. So this One X was kind of big as well.. But I am a techie so I want the latest and greatest and it seems all the higher end ones are going bigger.. (which not really a fan of)
Now down to the details.. The One X was too big but that was a preference and therefor not going to be a deal breaker for other people.. The biggest issue IMHO is that HTC has messed up on the multitasking.. Now I have been through what seems like a million forums across a bunch of websites and there is definitely an issue there.. It isn't true multitasking.. It holds whatever you were doing in the background and then when you hop back in there (no matter if it is 10 seconds or 10 minutes) it will hold and fade out and then start the app over.. Try it with your browser! Some say it's the Ram.. some say it's other things.. But whatever it is.. It isn't right..
Second thing is that Sense crashes quite a lot.. I read that the HTC agenda widget was causing some of this but obviously no confirmation from HTC themselves yet.. But I had this thing just restart without any clue what happened.. and sometimes it wouldn't even power back on for a good 5 minutes..
Now I know we are all beta testers (as per nokia lol) but I just couldn't handle all the bugs and wait for a updated firmware (whenever that would be). I had 30 days so I just took it back and i'll wait on either a definite fix on that phone or I'll look toward the Galaxy SIII (which I wasn't really excited about), or other phones that come out..
I really liked Sense and I think HTC has a great piece of hardware there.. The camera IMO was great and I loved the interface for it as well. Having both camera and camcorder buttons on there was great.. I believe it's a great phone and will be once things are ironed out.. But I just wanted to give a heads up on some things..
PS.. I never have rooted so I am not sure if some of these things can be fixed when a dev has a custom rom for it.. So if you are into rooting you might be able to go that route!
Any questions or criticism is always encouraged
