I getting this for for the screen, quad core, 2gb of ram and some of the cool fetures that the lg ui has to offer. Im not concerned that it has ics and not jb. Thete are only a gand full of phones that have jb. People talk about 4.2 like its out now. It wont be out till summer. Ya maybe on one phone (nexus4) . The 8mp camera will work just fine. I dont print out pics anyway so mp dont mater. I even like the glass on the back, I think thats thinking outside the box for an android phone. Yes there will be better phones in 6 months but I dont want to wait. And all of those will have the same specs anyway. If I get twelve hours of batt life with moderate use im happy. I also like a lit of things that lg threw in there like being able to change the screen transitions. I can finally stop using launchers to do that. I really like the settings on the AT&T version. To ge able to select sound, or display as opposed to looking for those on a long list that you have scroll through. Never been fond on the wsy android does there settings. Very excited for this phone, good job lg

The reasons you want the phone are the same reasons that I want it but the camera is a big downfall for me I want a device I can pull out and pretty much know im going to get a good shot.( spoiled by the EVO LTE great cellphone camera), and I believe LG has made great strides in their software this phone has a lot of great features and great specs. I just don't know how well this device will be supported ( lg and dev community). If I knew the dev community would be their even if LG dropped the ball I would be fine with getting it. But since all of their devices running ics have a locked bootloader I don't know if devs will flock to this and I can't put my trust into LG just yet to keep their devices updated. I have a real tough choice coming up get the note 2 that's probably to big for me but has awesome specs and features or get this that will fit my budget and hands better with great specs great features. I give this device a few updates and it could bthe best device released so far this year bit will LG learn from their mistakes and put the time and effort into keeping their phones updated and ironing out issues in the software of their phones. LG right now really feels like Samsung prior to releasing the sgs2 great device with a lot of uncertainty. I hope they learn from Samsung
And put some marketing and engineering behind their phones to keep them up to date and running great.

Edit
Oh and offering unlocked or unlockable bootloaders goes a long way to get people into devices and or keeping them their

What's the problem with the camera on this one and which version are you referring to, the Sprint or AT&T? I wasn't aware the bootloader was locked either. I'm not familiar with how lousy LG phones have been, but there seems to be a lot of residual rage over past sins.

I'm in the market for a new phone on AT&T because I'm fed up with Sprint in my area. I was going to get a GS3, but I'm not liking the curved top and bottom plus the physical Home button. What was wrong with flush capacitive touch buttons again?

A couple of reports indicate that the 13Mpx photos are washy. They also say it can run hot on full brightness, but I never use full brightness so that should not be an issue.
The thing that bothered me was call quality which might not be as good a Sammy, (allegedly).

I need to change my i4s ... and I think the LG-OG will fit the bill, if not the Note2 will be ok.
The OG will be spec matched by the end of the year or early 2013. I do love the simple design, and I think that all the tech LG put into this they will want it to succeed, and they better provide stellar support.
Never tried LG and this might be a good start for me.
I am just wondering how many accessories this will have. I would normally use a car dock (GPS), bedside dock (Alarm clock), impact resistant case.

The problem with the camera has been sub par image processing in the sprint variant which has been pointed out on a few sight with one being the verge who said the att version took better pictures than the sprint. As far as the bootloadrt I haven't seen it confirmed and LG could have changed their ways but seeing all their ics devices and all newly released phones have a locked bootloader its not a far jump to think they would do the same with this. But with their subpar updates and the possibility od them locking this down I still want this phone it ticks most of my boxes Plus its smaller than my second option the note 2

But for every person I know that have android phones have never herd of rom s, rooting and locked bootlaoders. Ive been rooting for about 2 years and im now at a point that im no longer into the rom thing. For now the ui's give me what I want. But I can understand where some of you are coming from. I pick a phone based on what it can do right out of the box. If I didnt download any apps will the phone do what I want. Thats why I lean toward ui's over stock. As to the camera im ok with it being ok. Im not impressed with the my sgs3 camera so im good with just an ok camera, but then again I might think that its a really good camera. I dont go by these reveiws anyway. just cuz they say one thing doesnt mean thats what I wiil I think.

Well I was thinking of trading the EVO for this but I have a s3 replacement device coming so I think my choice just got harder. Will most likely pick this up on the 1st as an upgrade and keep the s3 as a backup. As far as rooting I've been had rooted devices since 09 and I see an unlocked bootloader as a tool to keep a device going even if the manufacture and carrier give up on it. Given the power of this phone I don't think it will be begging for a custom kernel but the ability to under volt the processor is a big plus. I believe the stock UI is great but the ability to fix some bugs that arise in stock software is another reason I run custom roms( multi tasking on the EVO LTE being one ). As far as the camera I will have to test it myself I've read reviews that rate it as bad and others that rate it as good. So I guess its all personal preference. I guess what I'm trying to say is screw the reviews ill try it myself. And hope I don't get burned.

This phone doesn't have an SD slot right?

I like the specs but just don't know about the storage. Since the os will take up a chunk of it wonder how much will be left to use. On the sprint version

The sprint will have 32gb of storage so yo will have maybe 29 to 30gb left I would think. Thats more then a lot of phones.

You may only see let's say 28 gigs of storage on this but I would rather have one big chunk of nand flash memory then it spilt up between nand flash and a memory card

:pI'm about due for an upgrade. I was looking at the GS3 (my wife has it) and I was considering it. Then I heard about the OptiG. I've had an OptiS for the past two years. I currently have TWRP 2.2.2.1 recovery and a CM9 OS with the Apex Launcher. If the OptiG is as solid as my OptiS, then I'm sold. Jerry has already rooted the damned thing, so it shouldn't be too long before someone cleans up (de-bloats) the stock OS or maybe ports MUIU or CM9 or AOKP.

It amazes me when I read about bad the LG phones are. A lot of haters out there. I'm half-assed tempted to get the phone just for the "up-yours" value.... :p
