Why is Android Auto not showing up on my Civics Home Screen?

I have a 2016 Honda Civic EX-T. AA was working fine until the following: I was utilizing Google Maps Directions, reached my destination and turned off my car. After I restarted the car it no longer recognized my phone and the AA App does not appear on my home screen. I have since reinstalled AA on my smartphone, a Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime. I am baffled since the Google Map feature with the directions was working great up until this point.
