Why is AOL signin repeatedly required

Every day my husband receives a message on his Galaxy S7 that he must sign in to his AOL account because his password has been changed, even though he had not changed it. After he inputs his password, everything continues normally until he turns his phone off at the end of the day. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Does he use the stock email app to access his AOL email account, or does he have some other AOL app installed?
