Why is Auto-lock between my Galaxy Gear 2 and Note 4 suddenly not working?

I always have my Galaxy Gear 2 set to Auto-lock (or unlock) my Galaxy Note 4, so that I don't have to constantly use my unlock pattern. But suddenly yesterday, it stopped working. And I can't turn it back on.

I've rebooted both devices, I've uninstalled and reinstalled Samsung Gear Manager on my phone.

Nada.

I try to check the box for Auto-lock, am asked to enter and re-enter my locking pattern and PIN. but this is just a constant loop. Nothing happens and the box remains unchecked.

I installed the Lollipop update a couple of weeks ago...so that wouldn't seem to be the culprit.

Any suggestions?

I have the exact same issue with the note 4 and galaxy gear first generation. It's really annoying, please help!

I have this problem too, exactly as you describe it. My autolock between my Gear 2 and my note 4 has not been working for months now, can't seem to fix it. I love this feature and hope someone figures out how to fix it
