Why is Chrome eating my battery?

I only used the browser for less than 5 minutes and over 75% of the battery is gone. I have tried Gservicefix a few times following the instructions exactly as stated and that did not help.

The phone is totally stock Nexus 4.

Any ideas?

Tap the Chrome listing there so we can see how long it's been working and keeping the phone awake.

Also, it would help if you do the following: Charge up to 100%, then let it drain to 20-30% with normal usage, without charging in between. Then show us:

1. The main Settings>Battery screen.
2. The fullscreen battery graph screen (which shows Awake time and Cell Signal Strength).
3. The Screen category (to see total Screen On time).
4. The Cell Standby category, if present (to see Time Without Signal).
5. The Chrome category.

I think I solved the problem. I was driving and the seat belt buckle was squeezing the phone case. I think it forced the power button and this caused the screen to stay on draining the battery.

Interesting! Although I'm not sure why Chrome would still be using that much battery percentage, since you weren't actively browsing. Unless Chrome was opening to a page that was constantly streaming a video or music or something.
