Why Is It So Hard To Get a Good Screen Protector?!

You could by a phone that has gorilla glass. It is very strong and scratch resistant. And difficult to damage. You can avoid a screen protector all together by purchasing a phone with this type of screen. All my Motorola's have this type of screen. I have not used a screen protector since 2013. I only purchase a good case to protect the phone from dings and dents. Good luck. If you are still looking for a good phone case - OtterBox is by far the best. Good luck!

All my smartphones have had gorilla glass has well but while it is indeed scratch protective it breaks if dropped and hits a stone or something like all glass does and the glass screen protectors have saved me and many of my friends and family from that. And I also use a case.
Cheers

Can someone please confirm that the Spigen clear glass screen protector (the one that doesn't cover the whole screen) has some kind of oleophobic coating to avoid the smudges and fingerprints? Otherwise I'll stick with the ebay ones since they cost 1 or 2 bucks each, opposed to the 9 bucks for the Spigen.
Cheers

It does but I couldn't get them to install properly. Edges wouldn't stick and huge bubbles that wouldn't go away like the protector wasn't fully touching the screen. I tried both from the 2 pack and they were in the trash almost immediately.

Take photos and contact Spigen, they will take care of you since their support service is great

Does anyone know what kind of warranty Whitestone offers on the Dome Glass? I'm tempted to pull the trigger but just can't justify spending $60 again if it needs to be replaced. I know many manufacturers offer a "just pay the shipping" replacement program for their protectors - anyone know if Whitestone does the same?

I have a hard time spending $60 on a protector when the screen replacement is $130 (Pixel 2). If I had a Pixel 2 XL, maybe a different story as they are $220.

Google recommends UBreakIFix as the repair sources (I called to inquire).

My biggest concern isn't the screen breaking, but rather the scratching. I've had the phone for about a month and a half and the microscratching is unreal. I've never used a screen protector on any of my old phones but given the softness of the screen on the Pixel 2 XL I want to have at least some protection.

My concern about the warranty on the Dome Glass only arises because I find that tempered glass screen protectors in general tend to chip and crack with normal usage - not just drops.
