why is it when I'm on messenger, and speak, it says saving to your Gmail account.

For some reason, I've been getting problems with messenger recently. When I click the microphone and start speaking many times it won't type what I'm saying and it just says saving to your Gmail email account. Why is that, why would it even say to my Gmail account. How do I even gain access to this and turn it off?

That's normal. I think it's just an FYI that when you dictate something, it gets routed through your Google account, for speech recognition/analysis. It's probably Google trying to be transparent.
