Why is LG G6 email notification sound still working when set to None !

[Android Central Question]

I am using hotmail - I have updated the Sound notification settings within the hotmail app to "None" .
I have then accessed the LG G6 email app and also set the sound notification settings to "None"
After all this, I still get a audible sound when a email is received !
Any ideas how to STOP the email notifcation sound please?

Hold the notification within the notification bar and then hit "show notifications silently"
