Why is my battery in my LG realm draining ridiculously fast while the screen is off?

I have an LG realm. Over the past couple of weeks my battery well drain faster with the screen off than when I'm actively using it. For example...today after waking up I turned phone on with 100% on battery. Checked texts and went on Facebook for maybe 3 minutes. After FacebookFacebook I logged out, turned data off, and turned screen off. Still at 100%. 10 minutes later when I turned the screen on it was at 91%. I have been actively using the internet for almost an hour and it still has not used as much battery life as it did while screen was off.

What do your battery usage stats indicate as happening during those times when the phone is switched off?

The settings> battery doesn't even show the usage. When my battery drained 9% earlier it was still saying that 0% had been used over the last 3 hours even though it had just stopped from 100% to 91% in 10 minutes.

The only suggestion I can make is to do a Backup & Reset, if you consider it worth the hassle, and if the possibility that it will make no difference is acceptable to you. If you decide to proceed, and need advice about backing up fully, just say.

When you charge, do you let the phone sit on the charger for a while (about 15-30 minutes) after it reaches "100%"? (That 100% is the charger voltage, not the battery voltage - it has a way to go for the battery to fully charge. It's the only non-destructive state-of-charge test we can do, so don't blame the manufacturer, blame the laws of physics.)

Yeah I usually let the phone charge through the "trickle stage" also. The graph in the settings that shows the estimated battery life will have an almost straight vertical drop where the battery drains while the screen is off instead of the gradual declinedecline that is usually shown. And if I leave anything running while the screen is offoff such as music there is no drastic drop. It's only when nothing is running.
