Why is my battery life so poor on my Galaxy S5?

My s5 SM -900F, after updating to lollipop the battery life has somewhat gotten poorer. Under the battery consumption menu, the most power consuming app is now the android 0S which is consuming more than 22% of the battery life. Before the update, it was screen on time that consumed the most power (which is now at 2% compared to the 22% of the android os). Is it normal? Or is it because of any bug? My battery life has reduced by 4/5 hours and my phone is heating up frequently even on normal use.

Go into recovery and clear cache. That should clear out any issues related to the update and hopefully get you some battery life. Let us know how it goes.

If Lollipop comes with the device it's okay. But if you update the phone from Kit kat to Lollipop, then it will show you hell.

My strong and bold suggestion: back up the phone data and then factory reset it.

Try Kies 3 to back up phone data(u can back up almost everything except apps).

Go to google and type Samsung us kies 3 and install it.

You can restore the data once you reset the phone.
