Re: Why is my Droid Maxx rebooting itself

My wife's Droid Maxx was repeatedly rebooting itself. I have the same Maxx also. Mine worked fine. I called Motorola. Long time on the phone going through checklists. They did try but of no help. They were busy and would call me back in two hours. Two days later I'm still waiting for that return call. As with most products, they're no better than the people who will be servicing them. Verizon was next. That would be yesterday(9-23-15). I didn't know what forum I was on, but there were lots of people with this problem. By the way, Motorola was recommending FACTORY RESET. Having had these phones for nearly two years, that was not an option. We didn't have any data, photos, etc. backed up. Here is what Verizon did and 24 hours later, it's still working fine. (1) Remove sim card and place phone in airplane mode. Then wait 5 minutes. (2) Insert sim card and turn cellular(mobile) data off. Wait 5 minutes, then turn cellular(mobile) data back on. (3) Make a test call and send a test text message. Now these are my thoughts: Back up your data, photos, etc. I never do, but after this scare, we are. Either the Cloud(App on your cell) or your personal computer or... Thank you to Johnny and Jeremy at Verizon(Nashville) for saving us countless hours and possibly disaster with our data/pix.

Just wanted to say I've been having this problem since April, Phone rebooting and no WiFi/ Bluetooth intermittently till recently when they would not work at all. Sometimes my phone would reboot itself 5 times in a row. I did what was said in the previous post, "(1) Remove sim card and place phone in airplane mode. Then wait 5 minutes. (2) Insert sim card and turn cellular(mobile) data off. Wait 5 minutes, then turn cellular(mobile) data back on. (3) Make a test call and send a test text message." and everything was working for about 15 mins, though WiFi is still switched to on, which it wouldn't even do before, but no WiFi network shows up.

I have been to the Verizon store on a couple different occasions and the first time they told me to do a back up and see if that works. Well, it didn't so I tried doing it a few more times and still nothing. I have since moved, so I wound up going to a different Verizon store and this one was less than helpful, the kid pretty much said there was nothing he could do since the warranty was up. But aren't I still a paying customer? Anyway I'm kinda hoping that this all gets sorted out when we finally get the lollipop update.
