Why is my Galaxy S8 notification bar cut off at the top?

I just got my S8 yesterday and I've noticed the notification bar is cut off a little bit on the top. Its making it very difficult to slide it down to open it. Is there a way to fix it?

EDIT: I tried to screenshot it to show it but it shows it as normal. I only see it on the phone. In the image below you will see what I'm talking about. But oddly when I tilt my phone upward on a angle I can see the rest of the notification bar. Any help?

First thing I have to ask, looks like you have an Otterbox Defender case on you S8.
Is this the same issue when the case is OFF?
Unless it's an issue with the phone itself. The only thing I can think of is:

A) If you take the case off still have the same issue. Depending where you bought the phone it could be a fake. If it's 100% real, purchased new from a mobile dealer or from Samsung, etc. Then maybe you have a lemon. Meaning if you JUST got the phone you should have a 14 to 30 day over the counter exchange.
B) If it only happens with the case on. You may have a fake or defective OtterBox.

I would be interested to hear back on the above.

It's not the screen protector, you can see the top of the screen protector. And it's clear throughout. And it's cut off well below the screen protector. Perfectly clear, I don't see it being the screen protector.

It's not the case either by the looks of it. I am guessing either Fake S8 or Lemon S8

To be honest, it looks like a glass protector and just about all glass protectors are blackened at the top and bottom for the adhesive and judging by the vertical edges not having any adhesive, I would say that it had to adhere at the top and bottom? I think only the Whitestone Dome is totally clear?

Also unless my eyesight sucks (which could be the case lol) that's seems like a lot of black space between the camera and display.

looking at your pictures, it is the screen protector with a black line to hide the adhesive. looking at the space between the 2 sensors on the upper right of the phone and the distance to the bottom edge of the black line, it is to large. the bottom of the sonsors to about the top of your screen protector is about where the phones actual black edge stops.

another give away in your description was being able to tilt the phone and see the rest of the status bar. when you tilt the phone down, you are looking under the screen protector.

TBH, just take the screen protector off and use it without one. I haven't had one on my s8+ for a few months. I keep the phone in my pocket always with the screen to my leg. Have none of the micro scratches I have seen others post about and zero issues. The screen protector s just don't fit or work well with the curved glass in my opinion.

Hope you figure out what is causing your issue.

why don't u just remove the screen protector and see if it has those black top and bottom...if it has it then that's is what is covering it...I any case it must have you who installed the screen protector on the first place so u should know what the problem is... shouldn't be hard to figure out...or else the phone itself is fake

Oh. I thought it was one of those screen protectors with a black edging.

You know you could be right there. I have only had screen protectors that were clear and didn't have the BLACK for the adhesive. But you'd think that would be obvious to the OP if they did that.....
So I was't questioning it at first.

OMG I dropped my phone and this happened and I legit thought I broke it somehow. My screen protector had moved down that's all it was.

I noticed the same on my Note8 today. It was slightly different from yours though. I saw the notification bar was tilted very slightly to the right. I verfied this by looking at some web pages in landscape mode and they appeared misaligned on the right.
Removed the tempered glass screen protector and it is fine now. Will go for a film instead of a tempered glass protector.
