Why is my HTC One M8 camera very slow to open after Lollipop update?

HTC One M8 camera very slow to open after lollipop update

After updating to lollipop my camera takes about a minute or even two minutes to open. While it does there is just a black screen.

I have uninstalled updates but that hasn't done anything. I am new to Android so any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to Android Central! Is the HTC Camera app fully up-to-date? You should be able to update it through Google Play.
