Why is my Moto E so sluggish?

I've had my Moto E about a year, and I am about to throw it away.

It started acting up about two weeks ago, just shutting itself off. I removed the I Heart Radio app and the Misfit app, and it solved that problem. Now, text messaging and the web browser either don't work or are so slow they might as well not work.

I'm on Straight Talk, if that makes a difference.

What Moto E is it? First or Second Gen? Try clearing all of your apps cache , That seems to help sometimes when my phone is slow , or try to justo do a reboot
