Why is my motorola moto g7 flashlight flickering?

i've had my moto g7 phone since august 2019. it's worked amazingly and the quality was great. one feature of the phone is in the flashlight; you can quickly shake the phone twice to activate the flashlight. i use this feature a lot and when my younger siblings get their hands on my phone they do too. last night, my flashlight was working perfectly. this evening, i turned on my flashlight to look for something in the dark and i noticed it was flickering in and out every other second. i tried turning it off and on again, and i'm unsure as to why this problem has suddenly appeared out of nowhere in my otherwise perfectly functioning smartphone. any help?

Try turning it on the traditional way by using the toggle in the drop down notification area and see if it still flickers. Also is it possible someone dropped it using the karate chop to turn the flashlight on? We have 3 Moto phones with that setup, it's a handy feature but easy to drop the phones if you aren't careful.
