Why is my nexus 7 not updating to lollipop?

Finally got my 5.0.2 update tonight..... Installed the 311 MB update though it took a while to upgrade system and stuff. I had 100% battery life when I started the upgrade and by the time it was all done I was down to 89%. Good thing I had it charged....I will now see what the fuss is all about so far I can't say its faster but it could be the fact that I may have to run it for a while for all the ups to fully upgraded or something. I should check if during the update they changed my system from Dalvik to Art.... Will keep you posted.

I have a Nexus 7 2012 edition.

Let me tell you something, now that I have been using 5.0.2 for a while. Don't get it. It is the worst OS update I have seen in 20 years programming and using Computers.

I am researching how to put 4.4.4 back. I would recommend to anyone not to get Lollipop unless you want a device that crashes and is laggy and makes you truly feel you have hardware that was bought 10 years ago.

I am very, very disappointed with the performance of the OS. And yes I realize that I am running on hardware from 2012.

It's so bad I have now words to describe it. I own a Galaxy S5 as well and at first I was looking forward to getting Lollipop on all my devices but now I will avoid getting it for my S5.

It truely makes me wish I had an iPhone 4 right about now which would still out perform this steaming piece of metal i have now. Truly sad that after such hype about the "update" google is not just taking one step but 3 back.

I won't bore anyone with the details as this thread is not about the issues lollipop has but if anyone is interested let me know and i can tell you what the issues have been.

iPhone 4 has lots of know performance issues with iOS8. Just FYI

It sucks that it happened to you (have you tried factory reset?). I didn't even hesitate and did a factory reset as soon as I got the update. I don't feel any performance "degradation" but I was actually hoping for improvements. Some animations are definitely lagging behind my Nexus 5/6 but you can disable/minimize them from dev options (I believe). It's running like a champ on 2013 Nexus 7.
I don't consider animations lag as degradation because it's a new feature that can be disabled.
