Why is my Nexus downloading voicemail?

My nexus 7 (Wifi only) has recently started downloading multiple instances (3 or 4) of every voice mail that I receive. They show up as mp3 files in my downloads, and sometimes just start playing randomly. I do use google voice but haven't installed it, or any other voicemail app on my nexus. What is going on here?

Go into the google voice app, settings, sync and notifications, and uncheck voicemail notifications. This may solve your problem. Give it a try. Not sure what else it might be.
