Why is my Note 3 not charging properly ?

I have had some issues with my phone while charging since it got some lint in the usb port, it looks clean now, but still wont charge like it's supposed, while i'm charging it, it chages really slowly, last night i plugged aroud 10pm with 6% of charge, and today at 7:30 more less had 89% of charge, also, if i'm charging my phone and using it the battery wont charge it will go down instead.
I really need some help with this !! :c

we need more info.
What charger are you using? Is it a 1A, 1.5A or 2A output charger? Are you using stock cable or different cable. Is it a USB 3 cable or standard micro usb?
If your phone getting warm when charging over night? Did you clean the lint and if so with what?

I have cleaned the lint, and also, i'm using the original charger of my phone. The output is 5.3V 2.0A, it doesn't get warm, other thing is that i just used compressed air and it charges more normally, but if i use it while im charging it, the battery goes down.

Depending on what app your using its normal for it to drain while using it. But it does seem to charge slow over night.

I only use whatsapp when i charge it, and still the battery is drained, it had never happened that the phone wouldnt charge completely when i left it at night

How long have you had the phone? Maybe it's time to get a new battery?

I would try a different USB cable and a different AC adapter just to rule those out.

I just use a charger from a Galaxy S4, and ti charges normally, and if i use it my phone while charging, it will charge but really slowky

No, with the factory charger and the original USB 3.0 cord it isn't normal. I play modern combat 5 on my note 3 while charging and it charges slower, but never drains. 15% to 100% takes about an hour and a half if the phone is on but idle. Two hours if im gaming. Draining while charging might be normal if you're using heavily and its plugged into a laptop or a cheapie car charger but..otherwise no

OP: what carrier? Can you try another Samsung charger and cable? Preferably one for a note 3 or galaxy s5

Edit: fwiw, my charger gets hot during charging. Does the S4 have the same output as Note 3?

It isn't the same, the one from S4 its micro usb 2.0 but you can still plug it to a note. using the S4 charge my note 3 has charged normally, but still, if i'm using it while charging it wont charge, but at least its not draining

Compressed air is not sufficient to clean the USB charging port.

Please use a clean/dry toothbrush. The charging port and power cord are prone to oxide build-up.

The toothbrush allows you to firmly brush and remove such dirt.

Add some Isopropyl alcohol 99.9% pure and you have a good cleaning kit.
Thats what we use at the shop when we deal with phones that need to be cleaned.
Toothbrushes or small paint brushes work great.

You need to use a the larger charger on the note 3 if you dont want it to drain while using it.
