Why is my Note 5 randomly trying to connect to Wifi?

Is anybody having this issue? I never use Wifi. Anything connected to Wifi is turned off. Yet every day, it will randomly try to connect to wifi once in the morning and one time at night. Any advice/comments suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I know if you are with Sprint, there's a connection optimizer that you'd have to turn off to stop it. Not sure about other carriers.

I'm with T-mobile. So frustrating.

You need to go to Wifi then advanced and turn off everything there, also make sure smart switch (under the more menu) is turned off.

I did that when setting up the phone, so its turning on randomly even when i turned everything off.

What about the T-Mobile app? Do you have it enabled? Go through the options, there is a WiFi manager in that. I have it disabled so I can't get you any screenshots.

Before I disabled the app, I turned off everything in that T-Mobile app.

Just checked the app - it was enabled. I didn't even know any of the T-mobile apps had a wifi setting. I'll see how it goes now. Thank you so much!

Yup, it is hidden in there. Turning that off should stop that behavior.
