Why is my notification content on my notification ribbon not showing up on my S7?

[AC Question]

So when I get a notification from from any app on my phone, I only see the icon at the top and it doesn't show me the content of the notification. I just got this phone 4 days ago and I've noticed it hasn't been showing me it. With my previous galaxy phones, the icon would show so will the content. But now I have to drop the notification menu down to see what was sent. Help please! I already restarted and factory reset my phone and it didn't work.
