Android Central Question

I bought a Huawei p smart earlier on in the year. It's been really good since I bought it, and I love it a lot. However, I went on a family holiday and haven't been doing much. So I started using my phone quite a lot. I noticed it was overheating. I gave it some rest, cleared out cache and got rid of power intensive apps. I tried everything I could. However, ever since, my phone is constantly around 40 degrees Celsius even if I only use it for a minute or two, and only cools down when I power it off for a few hours. I've had no luck with looking at online guides. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to Android Central! A common cause of overheating is poor cell signal -- how is yours? Also, when it heats up, check the Battery menu and see if any apps or services are using an inordinate amount of energy.

Okay, so for some reason I wasn't signed in when I posted this. But I can say now that I'm on holiday on a family visit. So I've just been using WiFi. The WiFi isn't very fast, and also I think my battery is okay.

Even if you're relying on wi-fi, poor cell signal can drain the battery, so it's still relevant. As a simple test, you can turn on Airplane Mode, then turn wi-fi back on, and see if the battery drains as quickly.
