Re: Contact numbers in inbox not the actual number--extra country code?

Same issue here. Only happening to 1 Verizon contact and I am on AT&T

Workaround
Change to Google Hangouts for your messaging app.

Forum on AT&T's website says they are aware and working on the issue

Re: Why are my texts coming through under a different contact that's +11(my number)?

I'm having the same issue and I'm on the galaxy s 5. Someone please help this is annoying

Re: Phone is receiving texts in 11 digits

I didn't see someone else already said this. thanks. i feared that may have been the case

Re: Text messages coming in a weird format with senders number. Extra 1 in number.

This has just started happening with me today as well. I had four different text messages this morning, and could not reply to any of them directly. The messages all came from existing contacts, and their numbers are correct. Each message is now displaying "11###-###-####", so there is an extra digit at the beginning.

Between the Home button/Google search issue of late, and now this, my phone my end up in pieces. These frustrations are why I left my iPhone - and very tired of untested updates and upgrades taking place.

AT&T user here, btw.

Re: Recieving text messages adds +11 infront of my number and text wont send

Having the same issue with the +11 being added to received text messages and not being able to respond to that thread. Have an S5 Active with AT&T. Been having this issue receiving messages from people with Verizon and AT&T.

Re: Phone is receiving texts in 11 digits

Mine is doing this as well to every number that texts me. We need to find a solution.

Re: Recieving text messages adds +11 infront of my number and text wont send

Same problem on my Samsung Rugby. there are a couple of threads on this topic this morning.

Re: Why do some of my text conversations in "Messenger" get split-up?

No unfortunately I have not. Certain conversations still display as two separate entries, one for incoming and one for outgoing

Re: Recieving text messages adds +11 infront of my number and text wont send

If you are with at&t I think it's a software update. I just checked and mine is downloading it now. Then again maybe not I guess I'll find out when it's done downloading.

Re: Phone is receiving texts in 11 digits

I just called customer service and they said they have an outtage and that's what is causing it. She said there is no eta at this time but they are working on it. It's effecting android and iphones.

Re: Why are my texts coming through under a different contact that's +11(my number)?

I'm having the same issue

Re: Phone is receiving texts in 11 digits

My phone is doing the same thing with my fiance's number. I have a basic phone through AT&T, a Pantech Breeze 3 I think. Not sure on the model but I'm glad I'm not the only one having this issue. I figured I'd post so people know that it's affecting basic phones too.

Re: Phone is receiving texts in 11 digits

Seems to only be happening ATT (myself) to Verizon
ATT to ATT is working fine.

I dont know anyone on Sprint or T-mobile to test those.

Re: Why are my texts coming through under a different contact that's +11(my number)?

I updated my S5 last night and I am having the same problem. Except only Verizon numbers are coming through with the +11

Re: Text messages coming in a weird format with senders number. Extra 1 in number.

Phil, there are several threads on this topic. Seems like a lot of us are having this issue. I'm on AT&T if that helps. here's a copy paste of my issue:
It's like I have two threads for every text convo. One thread of outgoing text message to my saved contact, and the other is incoming from the same contact, but with an extra 1 in front of it. You have to know the person's # to know who the heck is texting you.

Re: Stock messaging screwed up

This actually happened to me while using Chomp, not the native messaging app. After uninstalling and everything else I had to do a force stop, then delete all messages to that one person. I also made sure the contact was not corrupted in the contacts app. After doing all that it seemed to help. I do not think it is related to lollipop, but to google. It happened when I used "ok google" to send messages over bluetooth. Hope this helps.
