Why is my phone so slow finding contacts?

slow finding contacts

when i open my 'phone' app in order to ring someone it takes ages to find the contact i wish to call. for example if i type in their name eg mike would be 6453 it would take about 6 seconds for all names beginnging with m i to show up. my brother also has s6 and his one instant. can fixes for this?

Have you tried wiping the app Cached Data in Storage, or the Cache Partition in Recovery?

omg thank you so much for that, i managed to fixed it by going into applications > contacts storage > clear data.. now it works instantly.

deleted cached and miscellaneous files wasnt fixing the problem

help!!! by clearing data and cache from contacts it accidentally deleted all my contacts. can i restore them??
