Why is my phone storage running very low but when you add all the datas the used space doesnt match

I have a 8 gig storage but i dont know why it is just like 5 gig i add all the data that shows in the storage menu but it doesnt match the used data

if you have a carrier specific phone, their pre installed bloatware takes up a fare amount of that 8 GB. Not to mention all the pre installed bloatware from the phone manufacturer. So you're looking at close to 3 GB already gone and you do not have access to it. Honestly, a phone with only 8 GB these days is not gonna allow too much wiggle room to install anything without seeing that "storage running low" pop up.

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone do you have? An 8 GB phone typically only has about 3 GB available to the user, since the rest is taken up by the OS and preinstalled bloatware that you can't get rid of.
