Why is my power button not working?

My power button hasn't been working for some time now but I have a way of switching it on without the power button. I recently dropped my phone and it turned black, it switches on (without the power button) but the screen is black. The LED light flashes, I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Note 4. I tried finding the way on YouTube but all the solutions require using the power button of which I don't have, is there any other way I can try without taking it to repairs?

I'd start by checking to make sure the power button isn't simply stuck. It's held into the midframe by 2 clips so it's not a terrible repair, but it could be that by simply removing the midframe you will find that it is corroded, blocked, or for some other easily-fixable reason not working.
