Android Central Question

There should be a software update to fix this issue. With this hardware that should be the best camera allround

Welcome to Android Central! You mean it looks tilted or crooked?

Not on "the" level would seem to imply that you feel lied to. You were not. The Ultra does 100X zoom, ultra wide, macro and all of the other things they said it would do. They did not promise amazing photos. Actually every review I watched dinged the device on photo quality. Shallow depth of field, 100X zoom is gimmicky and not practical, the zoom is actually only decent out to about 30X, images are soft, on and on and on. Samsung themselves came out just a few months after release and said they couldn't do anything about it even with a software update. Granted that was only released after the release and yeah that was kind of on the crappy side but they owned the issue which doesn't help but some companies might not have gone that far.

The issue it seems is that it has a larger than average sensor, which causes most of the things I mentioned. Software could sharpen the images but from what I've seen that isn't Samsung's style. Some of the other things can be ignored or corrected in manual controls. Not a perfect solution, especially when for the most part we spend a lot of money and expect things to work. I don't know how successful it was but awhile back I did hear of customers getting or trying to get warranty replacements of a different device. I guess that comes down to how unhappy you really are. Not to sound harsh or critical, that's like saying "no offense" because we all know what follows that, but anyway there are tons of outlets that have reviews and I would never put all of my faith in just one.

No one promised positive change. One who assumes makes an...
Well I certainly appreciated the change going from the S10+ to S20 Ultra and then the Note 20 Ultra. The S10+ took OK pictures, but I can get pictures with the S20U and Note 20U that I could not get before. The S20U had some autofocusing hiccups in the beginning that pretty much got sorted out. The big mistake they made was touting the 100X capability which was quite a bit of a stretch literally. I always said they should have stopped at 50X and Samsung must have been listening as seen in the Note 20U.

How does the Note 20U's camera compare to the S20 Ultra, especially with regard to zoom after the software upgrades?

You need a tripod if you zoom out, even with a SLR if you zoom out you need a tripod. But the quality is not great over 35X+
